Centipede Sod Grass

Centipede sod is perfect for the high traffic areas of your yard! It is the hardiest of the two varieties and can take much more sun than St. Augustine. This hardiness means less time spent watering the grass and mowing the lawn, as it grows relatively slowly. Centipede Sod sprouts a bright green but as temperatures cool you should see some brown coloration (this is most noticeable in the fall). Centipede is the lower-maintenance variety we suggest for full sun areas.

St. Augustine Sod Grass

St. Augustine Sod

St. Augustine offers vibrant green lawn coverage with thick blades that keep their color for longer in the season. It can take shade extremely well and still look great, but that versatility comes with higher maintenance; this grass needs more watering and mowing because they grow a bit quicker and fuller than centipede. Even with those higher demands, the look really pays off! The only time we would suggest against St. Augustine grass is very dry or drought-prone spots in your yard.
