The New Year and The New Home

For the first time in many years Louisiana Nursery has cut their house plant prices by 20%! I love the idea of encouraging everyone who supported our local business in unusual times to check out what have new in stock. It never hurts to liven up whatever space you are situated with, and the variety of choices has never been larger. Many of our newest customers are younger, but thankfully many of our new orders are cup sized and can fit just about anywhere (we also have some great looking pots to match)!

There is a huge difference between what you are looking for in a house plant versus an outdoor one. One is meant to be displayed to all passersby and is therefore a bit less personal. You are more so worried about the aesthetic and presentation of your home when making outdoor choices. House plants, however, do reside in the same rooms you wake up, do the chores, and so on. Your preference varies greatly between what should work at the fore front of your living room, or on the window seal of a bedroom.

I personally prefer greenery in my house because I am trying to bring some of that feeling of the outdoors into the living space. A simple plant/pot combo that works on my desk gives me something to daze at during my brief breaks and keeps me on task better than in its absence. During lockdowns in early 2020 I noticed my school and work were draining (more so than usual) and decided to grab a small plant from the nursery. It has a sort of grounding effect in one’s life. Hopefully, you find the same qualities in whatever you choose!

Have a blessed day.
